Port Blair, Aug 08: Four cops, one Assistant Sub-Inspector and three constables have been placed under suspension by Andaman and Nicobar Police for allegedly misbehaving with general public.
According to information received here all four cops, posted in Tirur Area, had misbehaved with three villagers of the Tirur and harassed them under influence of liquor.
When a complaint was lodged by the harassed villagers, A & N Police Department took immediate action and placed all four cops under suspension on Tuesday.
“Police Head Quarter will come down heavily on those police personnel, if they misbehave with general public. The basics job of Police department is to protect, assist and help general public and not to misbehave and harass them,” Mr. SBS Tyagi, the Superintendent of Police of South Andaman told Andaman Sheekha today.
Excellent job done.. Police Department needs such type of dedicated officers.. well done sir.
