Port Blair, Aug 13: All India Radio, Port Blair will broadcast Hon’ble President of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee’s address to the nation on the eve of Independence Day at 7 pm and Lieutenant Governor Lt. Gen. Bhopinder Singh’s address to the Islanders on the eve of Independence Day at 9.16 pm on 14th August, 2012.
On 15th August 2012 From 7.05 am onwards there will be Live broadcast from Delhi, of the flag hoisting ceremony and address to the nation from the ramparts of Red Fort by Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh.
From 8.50 am onwards there will be direct relay of flag hoisting ceremony and address to the Islanders by Lieutenant Governor Lt.Gen. Bhopinder Singh, from the Netaji Stadium. The commentators will be Mr. Zakir Hussian and Smti. S.Raji.
