Port Blair, Aug 20: Acting upon an information, a Police team of Special Branch (CID) & Central Crime Station comprising of SI N. Zainuddin, HCs P.R. Ajeesh Kumar, Ibrahim Ali, PCs Somasekar Rao, Binoy, Sudhir Kumar Dung Dung, Sumit Kumar Nag, Sarfuddin, Jaidev Bairagi and HG (Driver) Manoj Kumar Soreng led by Inspector S.S. Rathore, SHO CCS, Port Blair conducted a raid on Burmanallah junction and arrested five persons namely (1) D. Thirupathi (37 yrs) R/o Burmanallah, (2) Vinod (35 yrs) R/o Burmanallah, (3) Naresh Kumar (28 yrs) R/o Beodnabad, (4) Rajesh Kumar (31 yrs) R/o Burmanallah and (5) Samsuddin (32) R/o Burmanallah, who were found gambling with playing cards and recovered Rs. 8,470 (rupees eight thousand four hundred seventy only) including Rs. 7,700/- (rupees seven thousand seven hundred only) of stake money on 19/08/14 afternoon. Later they were challaned under the appropriate sections of law.
