Port Blair, May 20: Shri. K N Suresh a senior leader of Bharatiya Janta Party’s A & N State Unit and the Prabhari of National Investors Cell, South India, BJP committed suicide at his residence, Prem Nagar, Port Blair, this afternoon. The reason behind the suicide it yet not known. Shri. K N Suresh was extremely popular and well known in Andaman Society for this polite nature and deep knowledge about these Islands.
“This is a shocking and sad news. Shri K N Suresh was a strong and well educated person and nobody had ever imagined that he would take such extreme step. The party stands with his family and the Bharatiya Janta Party deeply condoles his death,” Mr. Vishal Jolly the President of BJP’s A & N State unit told ‘Andaman Sheekha’ today.
Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray has also condoled the death of K N Suresh.
“Mr Suresh was the state Executive Member of the Barathiya Janata Party , and he has played active role for the party. The party has lost a visionary with his death,” the Member of Parliament, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray said in a press communication.
The body was shifted to Port Blair’s lone referral Hospital by Police in the afternoon hours for post mortem. According to family sources the body of K N Suresh will be flown to Kerala, his native place, tomorrow for last rites.
“It is difficult to say what can be the possible reasons for suicides. There was no suicide note,” sources in Police Department told Andaman Sheekha.
Besides doing politics, Suresh was a government contractor and also owned two hotels in Port Blair city. He was also incharge of a Distance Education Centre and also the President of TGCE Alumni.
In 2012 K N Suresh was honoured with coveted Lt. Governor’s Commendation Certificate, the highest honour of A & N Islands, on the occasion of 65th Independence Day.
