Port Blair, May 10: In a dangerous car accident four people suffered injuries when a Maruti Swift Car hit a bike at Chakkargaon this evening.
According to public present at the spot, the driver of the Swift Car, a Junior Engineer of APWD was under heavy influence of liquor and was driving car dangerously because of which at nearly 8.30 PM, the car came to the wrong side of the road and hit the Bike, coming from the opposite direction.
According to sources, the driver of the car tried to escape from the spot but he failed to do so. Sources also said that the public present at the spot thrashed the driver because under heavy influence of liquor the driver was offering money to the victims.
It is also learnt that the two children on the bike suffered head injuries while their parents suffered minor injuries.
On information a team of police immediately reached the spot and rushed all the four injured people to the hospital.
