Port Blair, Feb 19: The visit of President of India Mr. Ram Nath Kovind, to Great Nicobar Islands has been reportedly cancelled. Although yesterday by late evening there were some strong rumours about cancellation of the visit, but no one was ready to comment on this issue, officially.
Finally this morning sources told Andaman Sheekha Daily, that according to new itinerary, the trip of President of India to Great Nicobar has been cancelled.
Meanwhile, the sailing of MV Coral Queen, for Great Nicobar via Car Nicobar today with all duty staffs, has also been cancelled.
It is learnt that several dozens of Government Servant had gone through COVID-19 tests at Port Blair and Car Nicobar to board the vessel MV Coral Queen to reach Campbell Bay for VVIP duty.
Authorities in Great Nicobar had made preparations to welcome the president of India to Great Nicobar, even senior officers of A & N Administration had paid a visit to Great Nicobar to oversee the preparation.
