Diglipur, Dec. 30: While paying homage to Netaji Shubhash Chandra Bose and to commemorate the 78th anniversary of hoisting of Tri-colour by Netaji in Port Blair on this day in 1943, the National Flag was hoisted jointly by Shri Motilal Das, President, Netaji Shubhash Chandra Bose Committee, Diglipur and Shri PR Singa Ram, Ex-Pradhan, Subhashgram, Diglipur today at 09:15 AM in front of the Statue of Netaji Shubhash Chandra Bose in the Children park here in Diglipur and which was followed by National Anthem.
Netaji’s Statue was then garlanded by Mr. Das and Ex-Pradhan and others while other dignitaries gave floral tribute to this great freedom fighter. Both Mr. Das and Ex-Pradhan delivered speeches. Mr. Sushil Mondal, President, Rabi Tirtha Club, Diglipur also spoke on the occasion.
The event was jointly organized by Netaji Shubhash Chandra Bose Committee and Rabi Tirtha Club in association with Tamizhar Sangam and Jago Hindu Jago Committee, Diglipur, a source said.
