Diglipur, Jan. 27: The 73rd Republic Day was befittingly celebrated in Diglipur. Shri Ankit Yadav (IAS), the Assistant Commissioner, Diglipur, N/Andaman hoisted the National Flag at Vivekananda Stadium, Diglipur yesterday at 08:35 AM. The tri-colour hoisting was followed by National Anthem. Speaking on the occasion, the Assistant Commissioner highlighted various projects and programmes implemented/being implemented by the Administration through various Departments & agencies. There was a special mention about the COVID-19 pandemic situation which left a trail of devastating impact on the common man. The Police Personnel stood in a parade of troops in front of the podium in honour of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate on this remarkable day. The AC extended warm greetings to all on this special day. Departmental heads and veterans were present on this occasion.
After the conclusion of this event, the SDM went to the Community Health Centre, Diglipur where he interacted with the patients admitted in the CHC and distributed sweets to them.
Earlier to this, the Assistant Commissioner accompanied by Shri Mahendra Nath Roy, Tehsildar, Diglipur paid tribute to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose by garlanding Netaji’s statue in the Children Park at 08:30 AM.
