Diglipur, July 24: In a bid to bring awareness to every citizen of India to avoid single use plastic, Mr. Swapan Kumar Mallick, In-Charge, Industries Dept. Diglipur distributed 500 numbers of cotton cloth bags free to the people at Diglipur Market area yesterday.
As an arrangement, a table stacked with these cotton-cloth made bags was set at different spots in the market while the trainees were found holding a banner with captions: “Avoid Using Single Use Plastic”, BYOB- (BRING YOUR OWN BAG).
Common people were seen to curiously throng the distribution table and pick up the cotton-cloth bags with enthusiasm and great joy.
The bags were prepared by the trainees of the department who also helped the Official distribute the bags.
The initiative was as a part of the celebration of the AzadiKaAmritMahotsav, the Industry Official said.
