Port Blair, May 30: Today, a delegation led by Ms. V.K Mariyam Bibi, Zilla Parishad Member of Bambooflat, along with Mrs. Rasheeda Bibi, Pradhan Hopetown, Mr. B. Laxmi Narayan PSM, HT, and Mr. Hema Rao, Up Pradhan, had a constructive meeting with Mr. Keshav Chandra, IAS, Chief Secretary of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration. The purpose of the meeting was to apprise him of several crucial issues that require attention and resolution.
The delegation highlighted the following key concerns:
1) Shifting the proposed site for the installation of the POL terminal from Hopetown to a more suitable location.
2) Urgently expediting the proposal for beautification from Bambooflat jetty to Hopetown.
Early preparation of estimates for the construction of an amusement park.
3) Development of Shoalbay-19 Beach with basic essential facilities.
4) Resolving fisheries welfare-related matters promptly.
5) Implementing the 1/30th pay scale for all DRMs working in Zilla Parishad, Panchayat Samities, and Gram Panchayats.
As per details, the Chief Secretary, reportedly assured the delegation that he will give due attention to the issues presented and take appropriate action.
Ms. V.K Mariyam Bibi, on behalf of the delegation, expressed her gratitude to Chief Secretary for giving them a patient hearing and assuring them of his support in addressing these matters. She emphasized the significance of these issues for the welfare and development of the respective areas and communities.
