Port Blair, Apr 25: Mr. Sudeep Rai Sharma, the Councillor of Ward No. 13, clinched victory in the election for the PBMC Chairperson this afternoon, securing his position as Chairperson of PBMC for the third year term (2024-2025).
Mr. Sudip Rai Sharma from the Congress and Aziz Ul Rehman from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were the two primary contenders of this election.
Winning the election by a margin of 15-9, Mr. Sudip Rai Sharma’s victory garnered widespread congratulations from his supporters and fellow party members.
Addressing the media soon after winning the election, Mr. Sudip Rai Sharma extended his appreciation to journalists and media personnel for their coverage of the campaign. He emphasized the importance of unity among residents and urged them to collaborate for the betterment of the municipality.
Acknowledging the challenges ahead, Mr. Sharma assured the public of his dedication to serving their interests. He thanked his fellow councilors for their support and promised to work tirelessly to fulfill their expectations.
