Diglipur, Aug 07: The residents of Ward No. 03, Kishorinagar village under Diglipur Tehsil are facing severe difficulties owing to weak signal of BSNL in the area.
According to information, the customers of the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) residing in Ward No. 03, Kishorinagar have been experiencing weak signals for the past many months in their areas, thus causing severe connectivity problems. “Sometime, the signal drops so low that we are put into an exasperating situation, especially in a medical emergency.
On the other hand, since our school going children now heavily depend on online education, BSNL’s weak signal or no-signal at all at times poses a terrible blow to them” lamented the residents. When Andaman Sheekha Daily asked the PRI’s elected members and wanted to know the matter, they said that they were seized of the problem and would hold talks with the concerned authorities in this regard to put an end to it.
On the other hand, after being demoralised by the BSNL’s service, the residents are now reportedly planning for a switch-over from BSNL to JIO service as they are left with no other choice. Now these residents want a JIO tower to be installed in the area so that their children may get benefitted in their online education and problems in medical emergencies may also be overcome, they said.
However, when Andaman Sheekha Daily placed questions to the BSNL, Diglipur officials on the matter, they said that at present there is availability of 3G in Kishorinagar and they are planning to erect a tower in Paschimsagar with the installation of indigenous BTS and which will provide BSNL service to the residents of Paschimsagar as well as Kishorinagar complete area. The setting up of BSNL tower in Paschimsagar village and providing its service with 4G signal will be operational reportedly in a couple of months tentatively, they said.
