Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr 01: The Composite Regional Centre (CRC), Andaman & Nicobar Islands, under the administrative support of the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (NIEPMD), Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, is dedicated to providing comprehensive services for individuals with disabilities. CRC offers Rehabilitation, Counseling, Therapeutic Interventions, Skill Development, and Assistive Device support. Additionally, it conducts training programs, awareness campaigns, and capacity-building initiatives to empower both persons with disabilities and their caregivers.
In its continuous effort to support individuals with mobility challenges, CRC, A & N islands, in collaboration with the Rotary Club, Sri Vijaya Puram, and Mahaveer Seva Sadan, is organizing a Free Prosthetic & Orthotic (Artificial Limb) Camp from 10th to 14th April 2025 at CRC, Brookshabad.
This initiative aims to provide artificial limbs to individuals in need, enhancing their mobility and improving their quality of life. Many residents of the islands face immense hardships due to limb loss or mobility impairments, compounded by the difficulties of accessing assistive devices on the mainland. This camp offers a unique opportunity to extend life-changing support to those in need, directly within the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
To ensure that eligible beneficiaries from all parts of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands receive the necessary support, CRC, A & N Islands, invites all individuals in need of prosthetic or orthotic assistance to reach out to us. Beneficiaries are requested to provide essential details such as name, age, contact information, and specific requirements, enabling us to offer personalized care and ensure effective service delivery during the camp.
This collaborative effort will play a vital role in enhancing mobility and fostering independence for individuals with disabilities. Together, CRC, A & N Islands remain committed to bringing hope, dignity, and empowerment to those in need
