Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr 10:In view of the upcoming Panguni Uttaram festival to be celebrated at Lord Subramaniaswamy Devasthanam (Murugan Temple), RGT Road, Sri Vijiyapuram, the District Magistrate of South Andaman has issued a traffic diversion order to ensure smooth vehicular movement and public safety.
As per the official notification, all vehicular traffic will be suspended from 7:00 AM onwards on April 11, 2025, along the stretch between Murugan Temple and Siddique Junction in both directions.
Additionally, no vehicles will be permitted to approach Murugan Temple from RGT Road and APWD Junction from 7:00 AM.
Alternate Routes Announced:
• Vehicles heading towards Aberdeen Bazar from Siddique Junction after 7:00 AM must take the following route:
Siddique Junction → Shadipur → Machi Line → RK Mission → Girls School Junction → Aberdeen Bazar.
• Vehicles intending to reach Siddique Junction via Murugan Temple must follow:
Murugan Temple → RGT Road → Machi Line → Shadipur → Siddique Junction.
Authorities have urged the public to cooperate and follow the traffic guidelines during the festival period for their convenience and safety.
The traffic changes have been enforced under the powers conferred by the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and the Administration’s Notification dated March 10, 2008.
For further updates, citizens are advised to stay tuned to local announcements and cooperate with traffic personnel deployed in the area.
