Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr 11: The unwavering commitment to a zero tolerance policy against crime, the Investigation Officers of PS Bambooflat demonstrated exceptional diligence and professionalism, playing a pivotal role in securing the conviction of the accused involved in a murder case.
On 09/04/2022, an Unnatural Death case was registered at PS Bambooflat with the initial investigation conducted by a Head Constable.
Upon receiving the Post Mortem Examination (PME) and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) reports, the UD case was converted into a Murder Case and the investigation was taken over by Inspector K Abdul Nasir the then SHO PS Bambooflat. During the investigation, the accused Peter Minj was arrested and all codal formalities were duly completed. The investigating Officer made extensive efforts to collect crucial evidence and meticulously reconstruct the sequence of events leading to the crime. After completion of the investigation, the case has been charge sheeted and submitted before the court for trail. Upon a comprehensive trial, the Sessions Judge convicted the accused on 09/04/2025 sentencing him to rigorous life imprisonment under Section 302 IPC along with a fine of ₹10,000. Additionally, he was awarded three years of rigorous imprisonment under Section 201 IPC for tampering with evidence.
