Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr 11: In a joint effort to promote fitness and tourism in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, the Andaman & Nicobar Command (ANC), in collaboration with the Andaman & Nicobar Administration (ANA), is set to host the ANC-ANA Half Marathon on Sunday, 13 April 2025 at Netaji Stadium, Sri Vijaya Puram.
This event forms part of their shared commitment to the Fit India Movement and the promotion of sports tourism across the islands. Participants will compete across three race categories –5 km, 10 km, and 21 km – all of which are timed runs.
The event will commence in the early morning, with assembly at 0430h and flag-off at 0500h for half marathon. 10 Km and 05 Km will be fagged off at 0600h and 0645h respectively. Lieutenant Governor Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd) has consented to flag off 10 km run while remaining runs will be flagged off by, Air Marshal Saju Balakrishnan, PVSM, AVSM, VM, Commander-in-Chief, Andaman & Nicobar Command (CINCAN).
All race categories will start from Netaji Stadium:
• 5 km Route: Via Rina Road and Flag Point, with a turnaround at 2.5 km from Netaji Stadium, then return along the same route.
• 10 km Route: Follows the same initial route via Rina Road and Flag Point, continuing onto Rajiv Gandhi Road up to the 2.5 km turnaround point on Rajiv Gandhi Road, before heading back.
• 21 km Route: Participants will complete two laps of the 10 km route, starting and ending at Netaji Stadium.
The ANC-ANA Half Marathon promises to be a vibrant celebration of fitness, unity, and adventure, set against the backdrop of one of Bharat’s most picturesque destinations.
