Sri Vijaya Puram, May 5: The Department of Fisheries, A&N Administration is implementing a programme under the UT Plan Scheme namely, ‘Subsidy for Construction/Purchase of Motorized/Mechanized fishing boats’ to support the Bonafide fishers/Scheduled Tribe/Local Un-employed youth/Entrepreneurs/Fisheries Coop. Societies/Federation/Tribal Coop. Societies of A&N Islands in increasing the fish production of the Islands.

· For General fishers/local unemployed youth/ local entrepreneurs/Fisheries Coop. Societies of A&N Islands Subsidy @ 50% of the unit cost fixed by the Department of Fisheries, A&N Administration · For Scheduled Tribe/ Tribal Coop. Societies of A&N Islands Subsidy @ 75% of the unit cost fixed by the Department of Fisheries, A&N Administration |
In this regard, applications have invited from the residents of Municipal and Tribal areas of A&N Islands, interested in Construction/Purchase of Motorized/Mechanized fishing boats under UT Plan scheme of the Department during the year 2025-26.
The application form and the detailed guidelines of the UT Plan subsidy programme can be obtained from the Directorate of Fisheries / Zonal Fisheries Offices (South Andaman and Nicobar) and the nearest Fisheries Sub Stations. The applications completed in all respect should reach the nearest Fisheries Zonal Office /Sub – Stations on or before 31st May, 2025. The prescribed application form along with the guidelines are also available in the Official website of A&N Administration (https://www.andaman.gov.in/).
