On the sacred and joyous occasion of Buddha Purnima, I extend my heartfelt greetings and warm wishes to all the residents of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Buddha Purnima marks the birth, enlightenment and Mahaparinirvana of Lord Buddha, whose life and teachings continue to illuminate the path of humanity. This day is a reminder of the timeless values of truth, compassion, non-violence and inner peace-principles that Lord Buddha not only preached but embodied. His profound wisdom and universal message transcend all boundaries of religion and culture, offering guidance to people across the world in their pursuit of a just and harmonious society.
As we celebrate this auspicious festival, let us reaffirm our commitment to these ideals and draw inspiration from Lord Buddha’s teachings to lead lives of humility, service and selflessness. His message calls upon us to rise above differences and to work collectively for the welfare of all beings, fostering an atmosphere of tolerance, unity and mutual respect.
May this occasion serve to further strengthen inter-community unity in our Islands and nurture the spirit of brotherhood among all residents. Let the light of Lord Buddha’s teachings guide us as we continue to build a peaceful, inclusive and progressive society.
On this blessed day, I pray that the celebrations bring joy, prosperity and spiritual fulfilment to each and every Islander. May the Andaman & Nicobar Islands continue to move forward on the path of development, peace and shared progress, making a valuable contribution towards realizing the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’.
