Andaman & Nicobar Traffic Police Enforces Strict Road Safety Measures, Issues 2592 Challans in April: Enforcement Strengthened | Awareness Amplified

Sri Vijaya Puram, May 11: The Andaman & Nicobar Traffic Police continued its focused efforts on road safety and enforcement during April 2025. A total of 2592 vehicles were challaned for various traffic violations, including 127 cases of drunken driving, 29 for illegal tinted films, 109 for riding without helmets and 09 for unauthorized vehicle modifications, reinforcing strict compliance and safe driving practices.
To further promote road discipline, the A&N Traffic Police also conducted 14 Road Safety Awareness Classes in schools and institutions, reaching over 1500 students and staff. These sessions focused on traffic signs, helmet use, pedestrian safety, and the risks of rash or drunken driving.
Appeal to the Public:
We urge all citizens to comply with traffic regulations, drive responsibly, and prioritize safety. Drunken and reckless driving not only put the driver at risk but also endanger the lives of others. Let us work together to build a safer and more disciplined driving culture.
General public is also encouraged to report traffic violations such as riding without helmet, Using mobile phone while driving, use of multi tone horn, excess smoke emission, illegal/obstructive parking, retrofitted/modified silencers, rash & negligent driving & triple riding etc. by sending clear photograph/short videos of violation containing clear registration no. of vehicle with date, time and place of offence on the official Whatsapp No. 9531892228 or to inform on the Traffic Control Room Number 03192-243812 for prompt action against the violators.
