Sri Vijaya Puram, May 16: In view of the prevailing inclement weather conditions across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Directorate of Shipping Services has issued an urgent advisory for commuters, the general public, and tourists. Officials have warned that Inter-Island and Foreshore Sector vessel operations may be suspended or cancelled at very short notice to ensure passenger safety.
The Directorate emphasized that passenger and vessel safety remains its top priority amidst the unpredictable weather.
Additionally, Harbour and Vehicle Ferry Services connecting Chatham, Bambooflat, Dundas Point, Hopetown, Phoenix Bay, and other outstations may also face unexpected disruptions or suspensions depending on weather developments.
Authorities have urged all commuters and visitors to plan their journeys cautiously and to stay informed about ferry operations to avoid inconvenience.
