Sri Vijaya Puram, May 22: The District Administration, South Andaman in its continuous efforts to preserve community spaces and to ensure lawful use of public property has been keeping strict vigil and monitoring and government land is being restored back from encroachment by unscrupulous elements in past few days in South Andaman District.
On May 22, 2025, an eviction drive was conducted in North Bay village. Encroachments on the recently opened road developed for the benefit of tourists and the public were successfully removed by a team of Revenue officials, with vital support from the Police Department and APWD staff and an area of 500 square meters of government revenue land was reclaimed and restored to the Government Khaata.
Residents are strongly urged to refrain from unauthorized occupations, as stringent legal action will be taken against violators. To strengthen public participation in this initiative, the District Administration, South Andaman has provided multiple avenues for reporting encroachments or illegal constructions.
