Port Blair, April 15: Tremendous dedication and hard work has made it possible for Kayaker Tanaz Noble to achieve a big milestone in her life to complete 70 Nautical miles of Kayaking in High Sea.
Tanaz, started kayaking at 0536 hours, on 14th April from Chidiyatapu, with a night halt at North Brother Island, she completed her 70 Nautical Miles Kayaking Journey at high sea to Little Andaman yesterday evening at 05:40 PM.
She is now said to be the only woman to have done this in India.
A few days ago Kayaker Tanaz had attempted to fulfill this dream but during then due to bad weather and difficulties, she faced in the Duncan Passage, she had to quit the task.
Kayaker Tanaz, making it her passion to achieve the dream, tried it once again and this time and completed the task even before the schedule.
As per reports, she was supposed to reach Little Andaman today at 11:30 AM but when she reached Passage Island, she found herself fit to move for Little Andaman and thus she took less time to rest and moved forward, following which she completed her task by yesterday evening.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, Ms Dinaz Noble the proud mother of Tanaz said that Tanaz has been doing smaller expeditions every year. “In 2015 she Kayaked 100 km in 11 hours over night from Barren Island to Havelock via Inglish Island that too non-stop, in 2015 she Kayaked from Rangat to Havelock via Long Island and North Passage Island,” said Ms Dinaz.
Ms Dinaz added that Tanaz used to be on waters, conducting tours so is fully active all day and besides this, she keeps herself fit with her own exercise routine. As per details, for this task Tanaz took with her more liquid items and high protein diet.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, Miss Tanaz Noble said that in the entire journey, Duncan Passage was extremely difficult and this was her second attempt and she made it.
“The idea is that, these expeditions are done abroad but no one in India does them. Even though we have international level medalist they fear the ocean. Honestly, this I have done with the hope to tempt more Kayakers to venture out into the sea and I hope it will work. I hope I will see more kayakers attempting to break my time,” Ms Tanaz said.
Talking about her next plans, Kayaker Tanaz said that her plan was 10 degree channel but as she has faced difficulties in the Duncan Passage she will now take up some courses abroad first and then go for that attempt.
“It is unfair to say that this is only my achievement. Instead it is the Port Management Board, Coast Guard, Navy, MFV Pratima with its kind, efficient and very hard working crew, Sanjit Mondol and his son Bhola and my brother, all have completed this expedition with me in spirit,” said Kayaker Tanaz.
Achieving this feat and taking things as a challenge should be highly appreciated about Kayaker Tanaz and her this achievement will surely inspire all women.
