Port Blair, Dec 22: Commodore BP Singh has taken over the Command of Naval Ship Repair Yard, Port Blair on 22 Dec 17 from Commodore DK Goswami. Post successful completion of his tenure as Commodore Superintendent, Commodore DK Goswami is moving to New Delhi on his next appointment. The Naval Ship Repair Yard (NSRY) at Port Blair, is the largest industrial establishment of Andaman & Nicobar Command and is the nerve centre for all refit/ repair activities of Ships, Yardcraft based at Port Blair and visiting Indian Warships as well as ships from friendly foreign countries. Commodore BP Singh was commissioned in the Indian Navy on 01 Aug 1987 and has held a number of important appointments both Afloat and Ashore. Prior to taking over the present appointment, Commodore BP Singh has served as Deputy Director General at Director General Naval projects (Mumbai) and Officer-in-Charge of Fleet Maintenance Unit (Mumbai).
