After very Successful and Fruitful tenure, Dr. Angel Bhati Chauhan leaves N&M Andaman on new assignment

Port Blair, Oct 10: Dr. Angel Bhati Chauhan, who managed to win hearts of thousands of residents of North and Middle Andaman as Deputy Commissioner, with her dedicated works and swift action during the time of pandemic, has been given a new assignment as Secretary of Personnel/ AR & Training, Education/Sports, ED-ANIIDCO 08, October 2021.

Dr. Angel Bhati Chauhan took over the charge of DC, North and Middle Andaman during the difficult time, when entire nation had come under the grip of corona virus and nobody had clear idea about the entire issue.

Under her guidance and watch, the North and Middle Andaman district remained free from COVID-19 infection for most of the time and it was seen that the Dr. Angel Bhati Chauhan visited every corner of North and Middle Andaman District during pandemic time to make sure that all SOPs are strictly followed and number of COVID-19 cases remain minimum.

Andaman Sheekha reported about dozens of instances when following public requests the Dr. Angel Bhati Chauhan took spot decisions and relaxed norms, wherever possible, so that general public face minimum inconvenience. There were instances when she made surprise inspections on various places to check whether things are under control during the time of pandemic.

Because of public friendly approach during her short tenure there were no major protests in North and Middle Andaman against District Administration and this is why she will be remembered as one of the most popular DCs of North and Middle Andaman.

Meanwhile, after her transfer today she moved from North and Middle Andaman for Port Blair via road and while crossing Middle Andaman she was given an emotional farewell by local grassroot leaders of Harinagar and members of Hindu Rastriya Shakti, NGO.

During an interaction at Panchayat Bhawan, Billiground, Dr. Dr.P.K.Mandal, General Secretary, HRS & BJKM, A&N Islands welcomed Dr. Bhati. He lauded her contributions for North and Middle Andaman region.

Dr. Mandal mentioned that because of the quality of swift action and quick decision making, Dr. Angel Bhati Chauhan solved many problems of Islanders on the spot during her tenure, brining huge relief for public.

Dr. Bhati in her speech expressed her gratitude towards the lovable people of North and Middle Andaman District, who always stood behind her and extended all possible cooperation to make her tenure a successful one. She said that she will take over new charge soon but during her new tenure she will be again serving the N & M District region also and this time she will be well aware about the ground realities.
