Port Blair, Oct 26: A minor fire was reported from a Transformer of Billiground region this evening. As per information received on 22 Oct 2021 the Transformer, placed in front of SBI, Billiground got damaged due to a lightening because of which Billiground and part of Harinagar had witnessed blackout. Villagers soon approached the concerned officials to replace the Transformer.
As per the details, soon a new Transformer was installed but due to unknown region the new Transformer also got damaged. Later the damaged Transformer was again repaired. Today as per villagers, due to huge load of electricity, a fire was seen inside the Transformer. The fire was later doused by fire brigade personnel, who reached the spot, after public complaint. Sadly due to all these issues a large area of Harinagar and Billiground witnessed prolonged power cuts.
