Port Blair, June 15: Yesterday, a shocking incident came to light as a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered at the Aberdeen Police Station in Port Blair against a resident of the South Andaman region. The accused has been accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old minor girl, leading to her pregnancy.
According to sources, the distressing incident came to the attention of authorities when doctors discovered the pregnancy during the girl’s medical treatment. After knowing about the news, the family immediately reported the matter to the Aberdeen Police Station. Promptly responding to the complaint, the police have initiated legal proceedings against the accused in accordance with the law. More details are awaited.
