Port Blair, July 19 : Dr Nitin Shakya, the Director Social Welfare has organized a Movie Session for the residents of the Old Age Home, Ferrargunj at Ananda Paradise Theatre with the support of the owner, Shri K.P Anand by taking up the matter personally.
Such events will be carried out on a regular basis, which includes Outing to various beaches, Yoga and Dinner programmes with the support of NGO’s.
Mr. Dalvir Singh, Sr. Citizen of Abhyuday Complex expressed that they had enjoyed the movies and also requested to organize such programms on regular intervals. Mr. Kiran Roy, Sr. Citizen informed that he has enjoyed the movie a lot and it was his first-time experience. On behalf of all other Sr, Citizens he wholeheartedly thanked the owner of the Theatre, Ananda Paradise and the Directorate of Social Welfare for such an innovative outing.
The Social Welfare Department has two Old Age Homes, one at Ferrargunj for males and another at Attam Pahad for females.
