Port Blair, Dec 26: The Composite Regional Center for Divyangjans (CRC) hosted a special program on Tuesday, December 26th, featuring Honorable Minister of State Mr. A Narayanasami as the Chief Guest. The event was held to distribute assistive devices/ADIP Materials to divyangjans, or persons with disabilities, living in the surrounding regions.
The programme was enlightened with the presence of The Chief Guest Honorable Minister of State Mr. A Narayanasami, Dr. Nitin Sakiya Director Social Welfare and Smti Sumithamol S.
The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp ceremony at the premises of the Composite Regional Centre by the special dignitaries.The celebration began with the warm welcome speech by SmtiSumithamol S., Director, CRC-A&N Islands.
At the event, Mr. A Narayanasami spoke about the government’s commitment to providing support and assistance to divyangjans across the country. He emphasized the importance of investing in assistive technologies and devices to ensure that divyangjans have the tools and resources they need to lead fulfilling lives.
During the event, Mr. A Narayanasami distributed assistive devices, including Hearing Aids & TLM kits, to divyangjans who attended the program. These devices were provided by the CRC, which is dedicated to providing comprehensive rehabilitation services to people with disabilities in the region.
The CRC provides a wide range of services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation for people with disabilities. The center also offers training and education programs for healthcare professionals, caregivers, and family members to help them better serve the needs of divyangjans.
“We are thrilled to have Minister of State Mr. A Narayanasami here at the CRC to distribute these much-needed assistive devices to divyangjans,” said CRC Director Smti. Sumithmol S. “This program is a testament to the government’s commitment to supporting people with disabilities and ensuring that they have access to the resources they need to thrive.”
The CRC is part of a network of centers established by the government to provide rehabilitation services to people with disabilities across the country. With state-of-the-art facilities, experienced professionals, and a commitment to excellence, the CRC is leading the way in providing comprehensive rehabilitation services to divyangjans in the region.
During the programme a Group dance was performed by the special children’s. The parents of the children also actively participated in the event, enjoying the festivities alongside their kids. CRC- A&N Islands provided Christmas gifts to all the children as a token of love.
The programme ended followed by a small awareness programme on Family empowerment with Persons with Disability conducted by Mr. Jeo Paul, Asst. Professor Clinical Psychologist.
Overall, the Christmas celebration at the Composite Regional Centre was a grand success. It not only brought joy to the children but also created awareness about the abilities and talents of children with disabilities. The center’s commitment to inclusivity and providing a nurturing environment for these children was evident throughout the event. It was truly an event filled with laughter, happiness, and a celebration of the incredible potential in every child.
Finally, Mr. T.YAbid, Lecturer Physiotherapy proposed the vote of thanks to all the dignitaries and the gathering.
