Autism Spectrum Disorder is a developmental condition that affects communication, social interactions, and behavior. Globally, approximately one in 100 children is diagnosed with autism, each with unique abilities and challenges requiring varying levels of support. Despite growing awareness, barriers such as stigma, limited resources, and lack of accessible environments remain prevalent, underscoring the need for intensified efforts.
This year’s theme, “Advancing Neuro Diversity”, emphasizes the importance of creating inclusive spaces within education, workplaces, and communities. It highlights the collective responsibility of policymakers, educators, healthcare professionals, and advocates in supporting autistic individuals and fostering an environment where neurodiversity is celebrated.
As part of its commitment to fostering inclusivity and awareness, CRC, A & N Islands, has planned a series of impactful programs and initiatives across the region to observe World Autism Awareness Day 2025. Through these efforts, we aim to spread knowledge, promote acceptance, and empower individuals with autism, ensuring a more inclusive and supportive society in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
