Sri Vijaya Puram, May 04: The District Administration, South Andaman has taken strict action against violators who were indulged in illegal extraction and were dumping earth in contravention of Land Revenue Regulations.
During a recent field inspection at Pahargaon village, revenue officials detected unauthorized activities involving the extraction and dumping of earth. A fine of Rs. 65,600/- was imposed on the offenders, and further legal action is being pursued.
In a separate inspection at Lamba Line village, revenue authorities found similar violations. A fine of Rs. 24,000/- was levied against those responsible for the unauthorized extraction and dumping of earth.
Altogether, approximately 162 cubic meters of earth had been illegally extracted without the requisite permissions across both Pahargaon and Lamba Line villages.
The Deputy Commissioner has issued a stern warning to all such unscrupulous elements indulging in illegal mining, earth transportation and unauthorized dumping. Further, the District Administration, South Andaman reiterates that such illegal activities will not be tolerated. Strict penal action will be taken against all violators. The law will take its own course and those who attempt to bypass it, will face the consequences.
Meanwhile, the general public have been advised to follow all legal provisions concerning land use, mining and material movement. Any suspicious activities related to illegal dumping, mining or transportation of earth and minerals may be reported immediately to the District Control Room on the designated helpline numbers 03192-240127/ 238881 / 1070 or through WhatsApp at 9531888844. The District Administration, South Andaman assures that the identities of those providing information will be kept in strict confidence to ensure their security and protection.
