Sri Vijaya Puram, May 04: The District Administration of South Andaman has issued a Land Restoration Order for 493 hectares of government land located across the villages of North Bay, Minnie Bay, Mithakhadi, and Bambooflat. This land, previously granted to Andaman Plantation, will now be restored to the government revenue account.
The order marks the conclusion of a long-pending legal battle pursued by the District Administration at various levels of the judiciary over the past 15 years. The Administration’s consistent efforts have led to the successful reclamation of this significant public land asset.
As per the restoration order, the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, has directed the Tehsildars of Sri Vijaya Puram and Ferrargunj Tehsils to carry out the necessary corrections in the land records to reflect the restored status of the land.
This decisive action underlines the District Administration’s continued commitment to protect Government land and ensuring proper record management and accountability in land governance.
