Sri Vijaya Puram, May 09: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) successfully organised a “Tiranga Yatra” on the 09th of May,2025 under the leadership of its President, Mr. Rangalal Halder, and Campaign Committee Chairman, Mr. TSG Bhasker. The yatra was held to honor the brave soldiers of India and salute their valiant efforts, particularly in light of the recent counter-terrorist operation, codenamed “Operation Sindoor”, launched in response to the Pahalgam attack.
The rally commenced from the Congress Office, passed through Clock Tower, and culminated at the historic Gandhi Statue. Over 400 party members and supporters enthusiastically participated, waving the tricolor and chanting slogans in support of national unity and security.
A felicitation ceremony was held to recognize individuals associated with the armed forces. Among those honored was Mr. Abdul Sattar, an ex-Army personnel member, who was acknowledged for his dedicated service to the nation.
Senior leaders of the ANTCC — Mr. Rangalal Halder, Mr. TSG Bhasker, AICC Member Mr. Hamid Ali, Mahila Congress State President Mrs. Zubaida Begum, NSUI State President Mr. M. A Sajid and Mr. Abdul Sattar — addressed the gathering with powerful speeches. They strongly endorsed the decisive actions of the Indian Armed Forces, commended the military for its targeted strikes against terrorist camps, and urged the Government of India to continue such operations until terrorism and its supporting infrastructure are entirely eradicated.
The rally was conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner. It concluded with resounding slogans expressing support for the Indian Armed Forces and reaffirming the Congress party’s unwavering commitment to national integrity and security.
The event witnessed the participation of Senior Congress leaders, AICC members, ANTCC Spokesperson, Block Presidents, Congress Seva Dal, Mahila Congress Leaders, Youth Congress Leaders, NSUI Leaders, INTUC, Unorganised Workers & Employees Congress Committee, OBC Committee, Fishermen Congress, SVPMC Councilors, PRI members, and the general public.
