Port Blair, July 11: Based on the local information, the team of PS Diglipur conducted raid in Navin Nagar and recoved more than 80 liters of Handia. Aperson named Lokiram, from whom the recovery was done, has been booked for the violation of the provisions of Excise Regulation.
In another instance, the team of PS Kalighat conducted search in the jungle area of Talbaghan and destroyed a bhatti installed for fermentation of Handia and also destroyed 2 drums full of Lahan.
The police officers are also making appeal to general public not to buy or consume such illicit liquor and inform the nearest police station if someone around them is involved in such activities.
