Port Blair, Mar. 12: All those APL beneficiaries who have not seeded their Aadhaar number in their respective ration cards have been informed that the time period for seeding of Aadhaar number has been extended till 16th March, 2023. Hence, all such APL ration card holders who have not yet seeded their Aadhaar may get their Aadhaar number seeded before 16th March failing which the unseeded members shall be consider bogus & the ration card to which such members are attached will be deactivated.
However, the de-activated /deleted person/ration card can be considered for re-activation/addition subject to submission of Aadhaar number in person. Further, all those members who could not seed their Aadhaar numbers due to non-enrollment of Aadhaar have been requested to get there name enrolled immediately.
The list of such un-seeded members have been provided in the respective Fair Price Shop for the connivance of the ration card holders. AHHANI, AAAA & SSMYC received Awards from IHRCCC, A & N

Young Scientist Fellowship scheme for Young Scientist & Technologist
Port Blair, March 12: The Govt. of India, Ministry of Science & Technology is implementing Young Scientist Fellowship scheme for Young Scientist & Technologist (SYST) engaging Young Researchers towards Socio-Economic Development and Sustainable Development Goals. The Young Scientist Fellowship scheme provides opportunities to young scientists for pursuing existing and innovative research. The scheme is focused on young scientist and technologists who have adequate background and training in the field of Science & Technology and encourage academic institutions, national labs and other S&T institutions to avail the benefit under this scheme.
Presently two schemes namely Technology Intervention for Disabled and Elderly and Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship are open for applying. Cleanliness Drive at Junglighat by Port Blair Municipal Council & GIZ-India
Port Blair, Mar 12: The Port Blair Municipal Council (PBMC) in collaboration with GIZ- India carried out a clean-up drive at Fish Landing Centre, Junglighat. Mrs. Smitha, IAS, Secretary ,PBMC lead from the front along with Mr.Jogga Rao, Ward Councillor in the clean up drive along with PBMC officials & Sanitary employees, Allu Arjun Army, Andaman Helping Hands and other volunteers.
During the drive around 42 bags (256.3 Kg) of waste was collected from the Fish Landing center. The waste consists of mixed garbage like plastics materials, Alcoholic bottles, Juice bottles, Water bottles etc.
Mr. Smitha R., Secretary, PBMC in her brief address emphasized the awareness to keep the neighborhood clean.Though the PBMC is creating frequent awareness the citizens has to play a major role in keeping the city spic and span. The Secretary also appealed to ensure waste segregation at Household level.The Secretary also highlighted that out of the 42 bags of waste collected today, 35 bags (92 Kg) is plastic waste which implies that collectively people need to be more responsible in usage and disposing the plastic products which eventually will deteriorate the fragile ecosystem of this serene Island
Mr.Joga Rao, Ward Councilor, 14 expressed thanks to all organizations including Fisheries Department, GIZ Officials, Sanitary Team of PBMC & Allu Arjun Army, who actively participated in the cleanliness drive and desired to hold more such drives in other parts of the city.
