Survey of Villages Abadi and Mapping with improvised Technology in Village Areas’

Port Blair, Sept 07: The Government of India launched a Central Sector Scheme known as ‘Survey of Villages Abadi and Mapping with improvised Technology in Village Areas’ (SVAMITVA) to bring financial stability to the citizens in rural India by enabling them to use their property as a financial asset for taking loans and other financial benefits.
Accordingly, Property Cards were issued to the eligible persons. The Administration and Revenue Department encourages the people to use Property Cards as it is much easier and digital to apply for loans and financial benefits of Government of India. The eligible person may access the Property Card through http://db.and.nic.in/propertycard.
The Revenue Department has convened a meeting with Lead Bank, SBI along with other scheduled banks and also encouraged them to use Property Cards as part of their documentary requirements for various public sector schemes to enhance the usage and popularity of Property Cards.

Advisory for eligible PDS beneficiaries of the UT

Port Blair, Sept 07: All the eligible PDS beneficiaries of the UT have been informed that the PDS foodgrains shall be distributed in advance for 2 months for September, 2023 & October, 2023 in one go in the entire UT in the month of September, 2023. All the Ration Card holders have been informed that they can purchase the foodgrains as per their entitlement for 2 months in one go from September 1, 2023 to October 31, 2023.
However, the Ration Card Holders who are not able to lift ration in the month of September, 2023 can lift their foodgrains in the month of October, 2023.

Mega event Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) 2023-24 for school students of class VI to XI

Port Blair, Sept 07: The National Council of Science Museum, Kolkata (NCSM) has partnered with NCERT, Ministry of Education, GoI and Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA) to conduct the mega event Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) 2023-24 for school students of class VI to XI. This talent search examination will be held on 29th October, 2023 and 30th October, 2023 in 12 major regional Indian languages (Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Odia, Malayalam, Assamese, Sanskrit, Urdu) along with English, Hindi. It is designed to be carried out using digital devices (App based) such as Mobile Phone, Tablet, Laptop/Desktop etc. This 90 minutes open book examination can be attempted by the students on any of the above exam dates between 10 am and 6 pm either from their school or from their home. The topper students will then participate in the next level of examination at State and thereafter at national levels consisting of Application Oriented Multiple Choice Questions, Hands-On Activities, Observation and Analysis, Situational Problem Solving Ability and a series of other activities.
This talent search examination will benefit students in following ways;
• Knowledge about the Indian contribution to Science.
• Know about one eminent Scientist and his/her work.
• Learning through Hands on Activities.
• Sharpen Leadership qualities among students.
• All the National Level Winners (18 Students) and Zonal Level Winner Students (72 students) shall undergo an Intership-cum-Extensive Training Program (SRIJAN), in the leading R&D labs of the country.
• Bhaskara Scholarships shall be offered to all National Level Winners – Himalayans (18 students)

Forest Rangers Examination from 21st August to 10th September, 2023

Port Blair, Sept 07: The Department of Environment and Forests, Andaman and Nicobar Islands is conducting Forest Rangers Examination from 21st August to 10th September, 2023 on 21 different optional subjects and one subject of General Knowledge & General English. The official answer keys for these examinations will be published online on 12/09/2023. The applicants have been advised to access the same through the web portal https://erecruitment.andaman.gov.in and click on Answer Key link option then mention their registration number & date of birth and verify their answer keys.
In case of any discrepancies/objections, applicants can send their observations to the mail ID dcfwlboe@gmail.com with the supporting documents/materials. It is to be noted that such discrepancies/ objections will be entertained till 19/09/2023 mid-night, and only the responses of the applicants received through e-mail shall be examined.

Counselling for admission to various UG Courses at JNRM for the Academic Session 2023-24

Port Blair, Sep 07: The category-wise Final Merit List of candidates who have applied for admission to various undergraduate courses in JNRM, Port Blair for the Academic Session 2023-24 has been uploaded duly attending all the claims and objections in the Common College Admission Portal (CCAP) website (https://collegeadmission.andaman.gov.in).
The counselling for admission to these courses shall be held in JNRM, Port Blair as per the following schedule and on the same day admission shall be completed including remittance of admission fee. Candidates are advised to attend counselling as per the “ALL CATEGORY FINAL MERIT LIST” with their Serial Number/Session-Wise/ Subject-Wise as mentioned below.
It may be noted that all those candidates who have opted for reserved categories viz. ST, OBC, Divyang, EWS, ward of Central Govt/Ex-servicemen/JNRM shall have to attend the counselling session course-wise (subject-wise) as per the Final Merit List separately prepared in respect of various Categories as the admission to the reserved categories shall be filled up at the first instance during the counselling session after that only unreserved (general) candidates shall be called for admission:
Candidates who have applied online for admission to above said courses are asked to be present by 8:30 AM on the respective date of counselling at the stipulated place at JNRM, Port Blair. They should bring the following DOCUMENTS IN ORIGINAL FOR VERIFICATION AND ONE SET OF PHOTOSTAT COPIES (to be submitted during admission):
1. 12th Marksheet in original (certificate will be detained in JNRM)
2. Transfer Certificate (TC)/ School Leaving Certificate in original (certificate will be detained in JNRM)
3. 10th Pass certificate in original for verification of date of birth.
4. Category Certificate in original (ST, OBC, PH, ward of central Govt. Servants/Ex-Servicemen & EWS).
5. One Passport size photograph with white background of the candidate.
NB: Certificates downloaded through Digilocker are valid during counseling sessions for taking provisional admission in JNRM. However, the Original Marksheet of 12th is required to be submitted to JNRM within a week of time for verification and grant of Final Admission by the Pondicherry University.
Special Instructions for the candidate interested to take admission in BPES:
As per the Pondicherry University norms, Physical Fitness Test will be conducted for admission to BPES and the candidate must come in proper sports dress on the day of counselling for their Fitness Test for the following events:
1. 100 Meter Sprint
2. Shot Put
3. Standing Board Jump
4. Vertical Jump
5. 12 Minutes Run/Walk Test
Those who fail to attend the counselling session on specified date and time will not be considered for admission to the respective course and the next eligible candidate from the merit list will be considered for admission.

Mass Casualty Evacuation Exercise at Port Blair

Port Blair, Sep 07: Andaman and Nicobar Command conducted a comprehensive mock drill on 04 Sep 23, to assess emergency services’ readiness for an Air Crash Accident including Mass Casualty Evacuation at the Veer Savarkar International Airport. Various stakeholders joined to holistically exercise collective response capabilities.
Coordinated by INS Utkrosh, this exercise involved medical units of the Andaman and Nicobar Command, relevant government agencies (which included Health Services, Disaster Management, GB Pant Hospital, Pillar Hospital, Civil Police, CISF, AirPort Authority of India), and airline operators.
The mock drill started with a fictitious aircraft crash. INS Utkrosh’s Safety Services team swiftly managed the simulated onboard fire, initiating casualty evacuation and essential Crash & Salvage operations. Meanwhile, INS Utkrosh’s Medical Department triaged injured passengers, providing initial First Aid and Resuscitation to revive survivors. A total of 13 ambulances (06 from Armed Forces & 08 from civil sources), quickly arrived at the simulated crash site. Hospitals (GB Pant, INHS Dhanvantari & Pillar) re-triaged 32 simulated casualties, set up Crisis Expansion Wards, and assembled Surgical Teams. Operation Theatres and Disaster Management Stores’ readiness was assessed.
Independent observers from Andaman and Nicobar Command and Civil Administration supervised the drill, showcasing synergy among agencies. It provided insights into HADR mechanisms, highlighting the commitment to safety in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Speaking on the occasion Chief Secretary A & N Administration has appraised Zilla Parishad, South Andaman for tie up with V.K.V Kanyakumari to provide valuable education and also stressed the need to provide and maintain quality education to the young generation. Load Shedding for next 15days

Port Blair, Sep 07: In continuation to earlier announcement, it is brought to the notice of the electricity consumers and general public that, to manage the shortfall of power generation through available power, ongoing load shedding will be continued in Port Blair and South Andaman area during evening peak hours from 1630 Hrs. to 0100 Hrs. for one hour and hour, if required, on a daily basis as per schedule given below.
The below mentioned load shedding schedule is purely tentative and the duration & timing may vary depending on available power generation and other technical reasons. The schedule will be enforced for next 15 days or till further intimation.
