Eight more unidentified and decomposed bodies found at Hut Bay Seashore area; Total 10 since yesterday

December 15, 2023 by sanjib Leave a Comment

Vikramaditya
Port Blair, Dec 15: In a grim turn of events, a total of eight unidentified and decomposed bodies have been recovered from the seashore area of Hut Bay today. This discovery comes on the heels of the retrieval of two bodies yesterday, bringing the overall count to ten.
The authorities have yet to ascertain the identities of these deceased individuals. However, there is growing speculation among many that these bodies may belong to Rohingya people. Concerns are rising among locals that the number of discovered bodies in the Hut Bay seashore area might increase. It is reported that bodies are nearly 10 to 15 days old.
This suspicion is rooted in the unfortunate history of Rohingya boat accidents and instances of bodies being thrown from Rohingya boats during their perilous journey from Bangladesh to Malaysia. Such incidents have been previously reported by international media.
Sources reveal that the coast guard and police teams are intensifying patrolling efforts in the coastal areas of Hut Bay to manage the situation and prevent further distressing discoveries. The mystery surrounding these bodies deepens as police officials continue their investigations to determine the cause and circumstances behind this tragic occurrence.

TSG Bhasker demands for One-Time Age Relaxation for PGT, GTT, PST, PET, C.I and Librarian Posts

December 15, 2023 by sanjib Leave a Comment

Port Blair, Dec 15: The ANTCC Campaign Committee Chairman Mr. TSG Bhasker has brought the attention of the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands towards a matter of great importance regarding the recruitment of Post Graduate Teacher (PGT), Graduate Teacher Trained (GTT), Primary School Teacher (PST), Physical Education Teacher (PET), Craft Instructor (C.I) and Librarian in the Union Territory.
In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor on Friday, Mr. Bhasker said “As per the reliable sources, around 900 posts are about to be filled up in the Education Department. The Education Department has announced a Vacancy Notice for filling up 380 GTT posts dated 07th December, 2023 for which the last date of submitting application is 30/12/2023. Further, the announcement for the vacancy of PST and PGT posts is also anticipated soon”.
He added that the posts of GTT, PST and PGT were deemed abolished for the past 8 to 10 years. Despite this, there was recently a completion of GTT recruitment a few months ago. Unfortunately, during that recruitment phase, the issue of age relaxation for both PGT and GTT positions was sub judice.
He mentioned that many of our Islander youths have trained for being teachers and have specific aspirations to become teachers. They have been deprived of the opportunity for the last 10 years as the recruitment for the teachers has been very minimal and thus causing the abolishing of the post of teachers.
Hence, Mr. Bhasker has requested the Lt. Governor to give a one-time age relaxation for GTT, PST, PGT, PET and C.I & Librarian posts. He concluded that this step would not only serve the cause of justice but also provide deserving aspirants with an equal and fair opportunity to apply for these positions.
Further he asked the Lt. Governor to take necessary steps to address this matter before 19/12/2023.
