Hindu Rashtra Shakti Appeals to Lt. Governor to Safeguard Essential Supplies Amidst Conflict

May 9, 2025 by Sanjib Kumar Roy Leave a Comment

Sri Vijaya Puram, May 09: Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, Hindu Rashtra Shakti’s Andaman and Nicobar unit has submitted a formal request to the Lt. Governor Sri Vijayapuram, urging immediate administrative action to prevent shortages and black marketing of essential commodities across the islands.
In a letter addressed to Raj Niwas, State President Rakeshwar Lall raised concerns about the vulnerability of the Union Territory due to its remote location and dependency on mainland supply chains. The organization fears that any disruption caused by the ongoing conflict could lead to hoarding, price inflation, and artificial scarcity.
Hindu Rashtra Shakti has urged the administration to implement the following key measures:
• Ensure Uninterrupted Supply: Coordinate with central authorities to prioritize the shipment of food grains, fuel, medicines, and other essentials to the islands, addressing logistical constraints and increased demand.
• Regulate Prices: Enforce strict price controls to keep essential goods affordable and curb inflation.
• Crack Down on Black Marketing: Launch frequent inspections to deter hoarding and penalize unethical trade practices.
• Enhance Public Support: Establish a grievance redressal mechanism, including a helpline and an online portal, to allow citizens to report unfair pricing or shortages.
“The strategic and isolated nature of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands makes it critical for authorities to act preemptively,” said Mr. Rakeshwar Lall. “Timely intervention will help avoid public panic and ensure the continued well-being of the residents during this uncertain period.”
The organization has emphasized that the appeal is made in the interest of public welfare and hopes for swift action from the administration.
