May 19, 2025 by Sanjib Kumar Roy Leave a Comment

Sri Vijaya Puram, May 19:The Union Territory Administration of Andaman & Nicobar Islands has announced an increase in helicopter service frequency to enhance Inter-Island connectivity. Since its inception in 2003, the helicopter service has been a vital lifeline for Island residents, providing year-round access to remote and far-flung areas of the archipelago. This service has proven especially critical during medical emergencies and evacuation situations.
To meet the growing demand for safe and reliable Inter-Island travel, the Administration has revised the operational schedule of the helicopters. As per the revised operational schedule, the PHL helicopters shall connect Campbell Bay via Car Nicobar six days a week, Nancowry Group of Islands via Car Nicobar six days a week, direct sorties to Car Nicobar six days a week, six sorties to Hut Bay in a week, three sorties to Swaraj Dweep & Shaheed Dweep in a week, weekly three trips to Rangat and weekly six sorties to Mayabunder and Diglipur. Further, there will be weekly two flights of IAF Dornier aircraft for Campbell Bay via Car Nicobar every Monday and Friday.
This revised operational schedule aims to improve frequency of accessibility to isolated regions, promote socio-economic development, and ensure timely emergency support for the island population. The Administration remains committed to providing last-mile air connectivity and ensuring a safe, reliable, and efficient helicopter service for all islanders. The revised operational schedule of Pawan Hans Helicopters will come into effect from 22nd May, 2025.

The new Prince Toyota showroom was officially opened on May 15 by the group’s Director, Mr. Sagar Khurana.
This strategic expansion offers great convenience for locals from Diglipur, Rangat, and surrounding regions, who previously had to endure overnight journeys or boat rides to access such showrooms. Now, with this local outlet, they can explore and book Toyota’s latest models including Glanza, Taisor, Hyryder, Rumion, Innova Crysta, Hycross, Fortuner, Camry and Hilux right at their doorstep.
Prince Toyota has also started service operations at the new Diglipur facility, equipped with state-of-the-art equipment—the first of its kind in North and Middle Andamans. This ensures that customers not only have easy access to new vehicles but also benefit from high-quality after-sales service without needing to travel to Port Blair.
After achieving great success in Port Blair, Toyota has become the only automobile brand to expand its operations to North and Middle Andaman within such a short span of launching its facility in the capital, setting a benchmark for others in the sector.
The popularity of Toyota vehicles for their durability, engineering, and service network is well known, and the local availability is expected to boost interest and satisfaction among island customers. The company has also emphasized its commitment to maintaining high standards in vehicle servicing, which is considered a crucial factor post-purchase.
The team at Prince Toyota has been appreciated for this move, which aligns with the growing automotive needs of the region. Locals have expressed excitement over the new facility and hope the company continues to serve the islanders with the same dedication it has shown in the capital.
