Middle Andaman, August 11: The 3.10-meter-long crocodile, which was captured yesterday at Bakultala Nallah, Middle Andaman has now been successfully shifted to the Chidiyatapu Biological Park, South Andaman.
As per more update, the rescue, led by Mr. Sunil Kumar, an Under Job Trainee with the Indian Forest Service (IFS), was initiated after multiple reports from local villagers who had sighted the large reptile in the area, raising significant concerns for public safety.
The Forest Department responded promptly by setting up a trap in the nallah, where the crocodile was found ensnared yesterday morning. The operation ensured the safety of both the local community and the animal, which was captured without incident.
Following the successful capture, the crocodile was safely transported to the Chidiyatapu Biological Park. The decision to relocate the crocodile to this secure facility was made to ensure it is kept in a suitable environment while also mitigating any potential risks to residents of Bakultala.
Chief Secretary Inaugurates New Helipad at Sagar Dweep, Enhancing Medical Access in North Andaman
Port Blair, Aug 13: The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS, today virtually inaugurated the newly constructed Helipad at Sagar Dweep village in Smith Island, North Andaman in the presence of Smti Dilraj Kaur, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Civil Aviation, Shri Vishwendra, Secretary Civil Aviation and other Senior Officers of A&N Administration.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Secretary congratulated everyone present and emphasized that availability of a Helipad at Sagar Dweep village will greatly help the Administration in providing the residents of this remote village with quick access to specialized medical treatment facilities.
Shri Aditya Kumar Asthana, Assistant Commissioner, Diglipur, Smti Anita Mondal, Pradhan, Keralapuram Gram Panchayat, other PRI members, local residents and Heads of Office of line Departments were also present on the occasion.
The Helipad has been constructed by APWD on an area measuring 1225 Sq.Mts (35 meters x 35 meters) in duration of about 20 months. The Helipad has been designed keeping in view all the safety parameters set by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India. Successful trial landing was conducted by Pawan Hans helicopter on 08.07.2024.
VHP Andaman Calls for Urgent Action Against Atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh

Diglipur, Aug 13: The Office bearers of VHP, A & N Islands held a Press Conference at Port Blair today on the unrest and atrocities on minorities in Bangladesh. Addressing a Press conference today Mr. Brajesh Pandey, Adhyakhs, VHP, A & N Islands said that as it is known fact that what sort of atrocities were inflicted on Hindus and for which they are grievously concerned; in fact, they (VHP) are the ones who first respond to any sort of incident like this.
He said that VHP was established in the year 1965 to safeguard the interests of Hindus. He further said that it is well known to all media persons/fraternity that how the inhuman torture on old, women and children, massacre were carried out by the jihaadi mindset people.
“As you are also aware of the fact that during 1971 a large section of Bengali people were settled in different areas in North & Middle Andaman district by the Govt. of India and there are many people who have relatives/own their people are still residing in Bangladesh and who are informing these people in Andaman about the atrocities being inflicted on the Bangalis there and which unnerve them”, he said. And thus these islands are not also untouched by the atrocities in an indirect way, he mentioned.
Hence the VHP Adhyaksh has urged the A & N Administration and govt. of India through this Press Conference to engage directly with the interim government to end this outbreak of violence, exercise restraint on atrocities on Hindus, and to bring those responsible to justice. He also said that some of the VHP central Office Bearers who are continually striving hard at Delhi to extend possible help to the victims of these atrocities in Bangladesh and they have also given some helpline numbers which they may contact in need, they said.
He further said that VHP Kendra Adhikari & Anterrashtryia Adyakhsh and General Secretary met Mr. Amit Shah, the Home Minister on 9th August and informed him about the sentiments of the Hindus in India owing to the atrocities.
The Home Minister, showing his deep concern on the unrest and atrocities in Bangladesh, reportedly gave assurances that the govt. is serious about the issue and doing its possible in this direction; while the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi who gave best wishes to the head of the interim govt. in Bangladesh ensured the safety of the students and others and he also established contacts with Officials of the interim govt. in Bangladesh and ensured the security of the minority such as Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh and Christian and also the security of the places of their worship.
The Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi also urged the head of the interim govt. to take actions against the individuals involved in the atrocities as the head of the interim govt. hasn’t disagreed with the atrocities. He further said that the minorities there had a big role and contribution in establishing Bangladesh; they also fairly contributed to the development of Bangladesh. On the other hand, the youths of Bangladesh protested against the Bangladesh govt. in connection to reservation and other issues then why they inflicted atrocities on the minorities there, he asked. ISKON, which has been feeding the thousands of people there in Bangladesh free of cost was also targeted and its temples were demolished and what mindset of people engaged in it portrays, he asked.
“Several temples, Muths…were torched and which people or force were behind it should be thoroughly investigated, they demanded. Videos of violence and atrocities on the minority are extremely disturbing and unbearable, he said. He urged the Bangladesh interim govt. that they exercise immediate restraint on these atrocities and restore peace and normalcy and to act to evolve solution in a diplomatic way and to gain the confidence of the minorities there find as soon as possible, he said.

Port Blair Municipal Council Leads ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign with Grand Bike Rally*
Port Blair, Aug 13: As part of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign, the Port Blair Municipal Council organized a Bike Rally which was flagged off from the National Memorial Cellular Jail by the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS, as the chief guest in the presence of the Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray here this afternoon.
The Chief Secretary and the Member of Parliament took part in the signature campaign. They also took selfie at the Selfie Point on the occasion. The program was also attended by senior Officers of the A&N Administration.
Over 350 bikers participated in the rally, which saw active involvement of PBMC staff, IRBn personnel and local citizens. The rally which commenced from National Memorial Cellular Jail proceeded to Bathubasti passing through Aberdeen Bazaar, Model School, Secretariat, Dairy Farm, School Line, Bathubasti and vice versa.
Diglipur Motorcycle Rally Celebrates “Har Ghar Tiranga” Campaign with Over 150 Participants

Diglipur, Aug 13: A Motorcycle Rally was held in the afternoon to celebrate “Har Ghar Tiranga” Campaign in Diglipur today.
As per report, the SDPO Diglipur flagged off the bike rally in front of PS Diglipur at around 04:00 pm, marking the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign. The rally showcased the National Flag and covered a route from PS Diglipur to Sitanagar via Subashgram, and then to Madhupur and Magar Nallah via Subashgram Bazaar, Dolphins Chowk, and Medical Chowk.
Similarly, another motorcycle rally was organized by Subashgram Gram Panchayat and which was flagged off by BDO Diglipur. Both rallies merged in Subashgram Bazaar and took out a joint rally throughout the entire bazaar. Around 150 motorcycles of police personnel and other official staff participated in the rally and it was a spectacular show on the eve of Independence Day this year.
TSG Charitable Foundation distributes Nutritional Kits to support TB Patients
Port Blair, Aug 13: To accelerate the Island’s progress towards TB elimination, the TSG Charitable Foundation has distributed nutritional kits to 20 tuberculosis patients hailing from poor families who were undergoing treatment in UHC Delanipur, UHC Haddo and UHC Dairy Farm with an aim to provide them with essential nutritional support.
The kits were handed over to the patients by Mr. Dakshin Bhasker, Director, TSG Hotels & Resorts and Mr. Chiranjeet Das, Corporate General Manager, TSG Hotels & Resorts in the presence of several medical professionals.
The distribution of these nutritional kits will go a long way in ensuring that the patients receive adequate support to maintain good health and will undoubtedly make a positive impact on their overall well-being.

Similarly, Deferred Live of this function will be telecast on DD Port Blair channel on 15.08.2024 from11:30 hrs onwards. Port Blair, Aug 12: As India gears up to celebrate its 78th ‘Independence Day’ with great enthusiasm, the Government of India has launched the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign as a nationwide initiative to encourage citizens to hoist the Indian National Flag at their homes from 13th to 15th August, 2024. The campaign aims to celebrate the 78th Independence Day of India and promote patriotism, unity and national pride. Citizens have been encouraged to hoist the National Flag at their homes, offices and public spaces from 13th to 15th August, 2024.
To make this third edition of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign 2024, a people’s movement in A&N Islands, the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS, today led the campaign by handing over the National Tri Colour to the Secretary (I/C), PBMC, Shri Azharuddin Zahiruddin Quazi, IAS and the Director, RD, Shri Shiv Singh Meena at Secretariat for its further propagation and distribution.
Approximately, 60,000 National Flags provided by the Ministry of Culture are to be distributed to households across all the Wards of PBMC, Gram Panchayats and Tribal Villages in the Islands. This distribution effort, managed by the PBMC & the Directorate of RD, PRIs, and ULBs, is designed to encourage every resident to participate in this patriotic observance.
The National Flag represents the values of freedom, equality, and justice and hoisting the flag at homes and public spaces, symbolizes national pride and unity. Massive Protest in Diglipur Against Attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh, BJP Leaders Urge Modi Government to Intervene

Diglipur, Aug 12: In response to the widespread attacks on minorities, particularly Hindus, in post-Hasina Bangladesh, a massive protest was held Diglipur today.
As per report, a massive protest against the atrocities and attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh was held in Diglipur today. Significant crowd of protesters gathered in front of the Assistant Commissioner’s Office here at around 03:00 pm and shouted slogans. The local police, on the other hand, were deployed at the protest site in view of the protest and to maintain law and order situation. Barricades were placed at the gate of the Assistant Commissioner’s Office and the police were seen standing close to the barricades.
The protesters then started marching from in front of the AC’s Office at around 04:00 pm and traversed all the vantage points in Diglipur Bazaar areas such as Diglipur Police Station, Fish Market, Diglipur main market, Madhupur Road and then they returned from Madhupur Road and halted and gathered in the centre of the Diglipur Bazaar. The protesters while marching shouted slogans: “Bangadeshi Hindu ke upar atyachar bandh karo”, “Bangadesh sarkar jabab do”, “Duniya ke Hindu ek ho”, “Diglipur ke Hindu ek ho”, “Hindu dharmic sthal todna bandh karo”, “Bharat ko Hindu Rashtra karna hoga”, “Rohingya go back”, etc. Then after collecting in the centre of the Diglipur Bazaar, they addressed the public. Addressing the public, the prominent Diglipur BJP leaders delivered their speeches one after one in which they voiced their concern on the atrocities being undoubtedly inflicted on the minorities especially the Hindus in multiple places in Bangladesh and urged the Modi govt. to engage directly with the interim government to end this outbreak of violence, including the targeting of Hindus, and to bring those responsible to justice.
The protest was organized by the BJP, Diglipur Unit and Mr. Asit Baroi, BJP Observer, N & M Andaman reportedly thanked the local administration and police for their cooperation in the protest.
The Diglipur Bazaar remained reportedly closed from 03:00 pm to 05:00 pm in support of this protest, while the local police reportedly remained dutiful and alert during the entire protest which reportedly peacefully concluded, the report further said.
