Port Blair, May 29: The Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Mr. Purushottam Rupala, Chaired the interaction with Print as well as Electronic Media, in presence of Mr. Ajoy Bairagi- State President BJP, Mr. Vishal Jolly- National Executive Member, BJP, Mr. M. Vinod State Vice President & Media and other senior leaders.
The BJP leaders highlighted the nine (09) years achievements of BJP led Central Government. All the remarkable and prominent infrastructural developmental works, facts & figures pertaining to all Central Government’s flagship schemes were placed and discussed.
During the press conference, Minister Mr. Parshottam Rupala highlighted the achievements of the Narendra Modi government as it celebrated its ninth year in power. Ministers praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and hailed him as the “most popular international leader.” The BJP government’s welfare schemes were lauded for empowering every Indian. Notable achievements mentioned include the successful implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), with over 9,000 crore accounts opened, and the Swachh Bharat Mission, which witnessed the construction of over 11 crore toilets across all states and union territories since October 2014.
The Minister also emphasized India’s management during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the country achieving a major milestone of administering ‘200 Crore’ COVID-19 vaccinations. India’s contribution in providing COVID-19 vaccines to other countries, such as Papua New Guinea, was acknowledged. The Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, which has provided direct financial assistance of Rs 2.5 lakh crore to farmers, was also highlighted. The Minister mentioned the significant growth in the mobile manufacturing industry, with over 200 companies now operating in India and the creation of job opportunities by renowned companies like Apple. Furthermore, under the Modi government, there has been a remarkable increase in the number of airports in India, from 74 in 2014 to nearly 140, providing improved commuting and travel facilities while supporting economic growth.
Education policies were also praised, with the government investing in building universities, IITs, IIMs, and other educational institutions across the country. The Minister highlighted the establishment of seven IITs, seven IIMs, 50 ANIIMS, 209 medical colleges, and over 5,000 colleges over the past nine years, ensuring better opportunities for students.
Minister Mr. Parshottam Rupala also shared details about the ongoing “Sagar Parikrama” Yatra, which aims to meet and interact with fishermen, fish farmers, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders to understand their issues and gather suggestions for the development of the fisheries sector. The Yatra also aims to disseminate information about government schemes and programs to beneficiaries directly, covering the entire 8,000-kilometer coastline of India. This particular phase of the Yatra focuses on visiting the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, reviewing the schemes, and assessing the development programs in the Union Territory, including visits to key establishments such as the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Aquaculture (RGCA).
A seperate display through Power Point presentation was also made.
It was conveyed by the State President of BJP that a 30 days Maha Jan Sampark Abhiyaan to showcase achievements of 09 years of Bharat Sarkar would commence from tomorrow i.e. from 30th May 2023 and the same would conclude on 30th June, 2023. He also appraised the Media that through various modes of Campaign, this Maha Jan Sampark Abhiyaan has been designed.
