Registration of fishing vessels

Port Blair, Sept 04: As a part of Coastal Security enhancement programme all the Fishing boats/vessels operating in A&N Islands are required to be registered under M.S. Act through ReAL Craft Project implemented by the Department of Fisheries.

Online generated certificate of Registration for the Fishing boats/vessels operating from 32 Fish Landing Centers of South Andaman are being distributed by the designated Area Fishery Officers.

Henceforth all the Fishers, Owners & Masters of Fishing boats /vessels are requested to paint/emboss their online generated MS. Act Registration number as per the Certificate of Registration on the bow of Port side and Star board side of their boat/vessel written in black on a white base. Size of alphabet shall not be less than 15 cm in height and 3 cm in width as stipulated under rules.

Previous Registration no. of a Fishing boat/vessel allotted by the Zonal Fisheries Office, South Andaman is hitherto invalid.

All the Fishers, Owners and Masters of the Fishing vessels are requested to cooperate and change their Registration number at the earliest.
