Administration sounds caution for fishing vessel owners

Port Blair, Dec 27: All the Masters, Owners, Traders, Fishers and Crew of registered and licensed Fishing vessels/boats are once more reminded that hiring out of Fishing vessels/boats for any other purpose such as tourism, transportation is an offence and will attract cancellation of Fishing licence in accordance with the rules in force vide term and condition no. 2 (v) of the licence. The licence to fish is granted to a fishing vessel/boat only to engage herself in the act of fishing.

Further all the fishing vessels/boats operating from Port Blair Harbour are required to follow the fishing lane specified in the Andaman & Nicobar Gazette Notification no. 1089/PMB/Vol. II dated January 23, 2012 to avoid any navigational problem. The specified fishing lane falls on the right of Port Blair harbour while entering near to North Bay, Hopetown, Panighat, Bambooflat, Dundas Point to Junglighat.
