Port Blair, Nov 22: Andaman Law College, Port Blair celebrated its first Freshers’ Day on 22nd November 2016 in the Law College premises. Secretary (Law) A&N Administration Shri Sandip J. Jaques, IAS, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Addressing the first batch of Law students Shri Jaques reminisced about his own days as a student of Law. He described how a Law degree will be of use in any field and add to their success in their careers. He congratulated the students for their scintillating cultural programmes and praised Dr. R.N. Rath, OSD Law College for his contribution in making the College a reality.
Dr. R.N. Rath, OSD, Law College blessed the students and hoped they have a bright future. He also thanked the Secretary (Law), A&N Administration and JNRM for the support extended to the College since inception. Dr. Francis Xavier, Principal, JNRM spoke on the scope of studies in Law and how there could be close collaboration between JNRM and the Law College in future. Smt. Sheeja Jenson praised the students for their enthusiasm and abundant talents. The students presented a colourful programme showcasing their cultural talents with some items based on pressing social issues like Gender bias and corruption. Ms Lalitha proposed a vote of thanks.
