Port Blair, May 17: Island Cricket Premiere League T- 20 Night Cricket Tournament organized by Cricket Association Andaman Nicobar will begin tomorrow (18/5/2023), 6:00 pm at Netaji Stadium. The most awaited Night Cricket will see participation of 6 Teams. Mr. Keshav Chandra ( IAS ), Chief Secretary A & N Administration will be the Chief Guest for the event and Mr. Anil Shukla, ( IPS ), ADGP Andaman and Nicobar Police will be the Guest of Honour. All the cricket enthusiast are invited to witness the inaugural match.

Port Blair, May 17: 1st time in the History of Oralkatcha, Baratang, A Summer Coaching Camp was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mr. P.K. Paul, DFO, Baratang in the presence of Mr. V. Ranjith Kumar Asst. Director, Sports, PRI Members, Mr. Alager Swami, Member Zilla Parishad, N & M Andaman, Pradhan & Physical Education Teachers of Oralkatcha area.

A total of 80 students of U -14 & U- 17 Boys & Girls Registered their name during the inaugural day. The Chief Guest Mr. P.K. Paul DFO, in his Inaugural Address appreciated the Officials of the Rangat Zone, Education Department, and Sports wing for taking such initiatives of Summer Coaching Camp in such far flung isolated areas. He congratulated the School children for getting such opportunities and asked the children to concentrate in such Coaching Camp, & utilize the summer vacation for such constructive fitness programs. So that all children of Baratang may continue in some or other sports, also it may benefit everyone for carrier building. Mr. Alagarh, Zilla Parishad Member also appreciated the Asst. Director, Sports, Rangat, & DFO, Oralkatcha for his Support for sparing the sports infrastructure facilities available in Baratang islands & also informed that the Flood light facilities are also declared by Member of Parliament which is already in the process of finalization so that the Children & youth of Baratang area will be benefited with such Sports facilities. Earlier Mr. V. Ranjith Kumar informed about the benefits of such camps for the children during summer vacation.

Port Blair, May 17: CRC, A&N-Islands is implementing Scheme of Assistance to Disabled Persons for Purchase/Fitting of Aids and Appliances (ADIP) which is functioning under the administration control of NIEPMD (Divyangjan) Chennai, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India population Andaman & Nicobar Islands. It is collecting documents for providing Auxiliary crutch and Elbow crutch from needy eligible Divyangjan in Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
The Divyangjan with Monthly income of below Rs. 22,500 per month (independent) & in case of dependent family income must be below Rs.30000 per month from all sources is eligible under this scheme and the required documents to be submitted are as follows; copy of 1. Disability certificate/UDID, 2. Passport Size Photo-two, 3. Adhaar card, 4. Income certificate from Tehsildar/BPL card. Port Blair, May 17: To facilitate the Island-based commuters to Chennai, the booking of Andaman Bhawans in Chennai (KK Nagar and Anna Nagar) is proposed to be made online from May 20, 2023. Interested commuters may book the rooms through the online portal (Beta version) under the URL http://andssw1.and.nic.in/AndamanHouse by submitting their application form online and paying the booking amount at the Reception Counter of DIPT and confirming their booking in advance.

Port Blair, May 17: The District Magistrate, South Andaman District has notified for the information of all concerned that the half portion of road from Dairy Farm Junction to Hayat Singh Junction will be closed for all the vehicles movements from 18.5.2023 to 31.5.2023.
